Good morning friends! It’s 7:00 and I’m already up, out of bed and sitting on the back deck. I rolled over several times to allow myself permission to sleep in…normally, I could easily get up at 6 or 6:30 without an alarm. Since my “natural” time to wake up for work is 6:00, I will now let myself get up at 6:30 or even 7:00 since I no longer have a commute.
I am in a very pensive mood this morning and am excited about this opportunity to work in a virtual manner from my home now. I feel relaxed and ready to embrace this new type of work. I sincerely think many of us will be working from our homes in a virtual manner so I am just joining the tons of other people doing the same thing. I am interested to explore the concept of ubiety or the condition of being in a particular place or having a definite location at a given time. Most of my working life has been spent arriving at an office destination at a specific time. It’s an interesting opportunity that I am getting mid-career and I want to experience it. I am a fairly disciplined person (obviously, I am already writing this early in the morning)…but I want to also let myself learn how to feel the “flow” and go with a new rhythm. After all, isn’t that what the great writers and creative people do?
Speaking of creative, my sister, Tracy Rose Moyers, posted her most recent painting of her VIEW from her front porch. Impressive! That’s the first word that came to mind when I saw it. It is so well done that it looks like a photograph. I have always encouraged Tracy to paint all the landscapes from the area where she lives as I really think people enjoy seeing how well she can capture the “view” that they can always see. Plus, she has an amazing VIEW to share!

I am very happy to see my sister’s work improving…almost daily! I think living in her destination of choice really inspires her. It is a breathtaking area….majestic, striking, magical really…just beautiful! It’s the kind of area where one can continually see something new as they look around. Fortunately, I will be heading to Montana to visit soon and am excited to capture some of that beauty. I plan to take lots of pictures and do some writing from my perch on the deck of one of her log cabins.
Meanwhile, I have many things to do to complete the set-up of my virtual coaching business.
I actually enjoy the behind the scenes details for launching a new business so will steadily work on each detail. I want to offer a quality experience for clients who are seeking to transition to something new or need help. In the process of making my own transition, I have realized how difficult it must be for somebody who does not have the knowledge and background that my occupation affords me to have. It’s a tough world of work out there now and it makes me sad to see how many people are just trudging along in life.
We are not supposed to just merely exist in life… Ask anyone who is battling for their life for whatever reason and/or disease and they will tell you what a beautiful gift it is. At this very moment I can hear the sound of crickets, the fluttering of birds and am enjoying the slight cool breeze before the morning escapes and the heat of the day is upon us. That is why I love the mornings. I know I will never win over all my wonderful night owl friends but that is the reason why mornings are special to me. I imagine they feel the same way about the calm, dark night.
So, I hope your day is a special one. What new person might you meet today? What special project might you create? How might some of you touch the lives of others? Whatever you do, do it well my friends and do it with conviction. We are so fortunate to have this moment in our lives. Make sure you take a deep breath and look around to absorb your VIEW. Oh, and contact me if you need me!
